Stitched Up

Though comparisons to Monty Python have long been trite journalistic cliché, they are entirely warranted in the case of Broken Holmes Productions.

Played out as a 45 minute sketch, Stitched Up begins in charmingly low-key fashion. “My name is Victor Frankenstein and I am a mad scientist.” Alleging to be newly reformed, the savant's recollection of his most famous creation is interrupted by the bickering monster itself. Soon Victor is joined by his bride, a French cottage owner and his former tutor. Rationalism meets idiocy head-on as each discusses and justifies their role within the novel and the franchise as a whole. Broadly appealing though unashamedly intellectual, the play is essential viewing for any discerning Fringe-goer.
